10-YEAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION GUARANTEE

FULL GUARANTEE TERMS & CONDITIONS

At Bavarian Old School, we believe that professional corrosion protection should be a long-term process, not a one-time coating application.

For eligible underbody protection treatments, Bavarian Old School provides a 10-Year Underbody Protection Guarantee, subject to the terms and conditions set out below.

This guarantee is a voluntary commercial guarantee provided by Bavarian Old School in addition to the consumer rights provided by applicable Slovenian law.

1. GUARANTEE PERIOD

The guarantee is valid for 10 years from the date of completion of the qualifying underbody protection treatment, as stated on the individual Guarantee Certificate.

The exact start date and expiry date are recorded on the Guarantee Certificate issued for the vehicle.

The guarantee applies only to the vehicle, treatment and covered areas identified in the individual Guarantee Certificate.

2. WHO IS PROVIDING THE GUARANTEE?

The guarantee is provided by:

Bavarian Old School

Old School Cars doo
Rakuševa ulica 8

TAX NUMBER 14310589

The guarantee applies within the territory specified in the individual Guarantee Certificate.

3. WHAT DOES THE GUARANTEE COVER?

The guarantee covers the underbody protection system applied by Bavarian Old School as part of the qualifying treatment.

Where the protective system fails prematurely due to a defect in the performed treatment, preparation or application, Bavarian Old School will assess the affected area and, where the claim is accepted, carry out the appropriate corrective work.

Depending on the circumstances, corrective work may include:

  • local cleaning and preparation

  • removal of failed protective material

  • corrosion treatment where appropriate

  • reapplication of the relevant protective system

  • local repair of the affected protection

The corrective action will be determined by Bavarian Old School based on the actual condition of the vehicle and the nature of the claimed failure.

The guarantee does not mean that the vehicle is guaranteed to remain completely free of corrosion for ten years under all circumstances.

The guarantee applies to the protection system and its proper performance, subject to these terms and conditions.

4. COVERED AREAS

The guarantee applies only to areas that were included in the original qualifying underbody protection treatment.

The covered areas are recorded in the individual Guarantee Certificate and treatment documentation where applicable.

Areas that were not treated as part of the original service are not covered.

Cavity protection is covered only where cavity protection was specifically included in the treatment and recorded in the vehicle's treatment documentation.

5. ANNUAL UNDERBODY INSPECTION

ANNUAL INSPECTION IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE GUARANTEE.

The vehicle must return to Bavarian Old School once every 12 months for a documented underbody inspection during the guarantee period.

The purpose of the annual inspection is to identify:

  • new corrosion

  • damaged protective material

  • stone-impact damage

  • mechanical damage

  • exposed metal

  • deterioration of the protective system

  • damage caused during subsequent repairs

  • areas requiring maintenance or additional protection

The inspection allows potential problems to be identified before they develop into more serious corrosion.

The annual inspection must be documented by Bavarian Old School.

6. MAINTENANCE FOLLOWING AN INSPECTION

If the annual inspection identifies damage or deterioration that may affect the protection system, Bavarian Old School will explain the recommended corrective action.

Where additional work is necessary, the customer will be informed before the work is carried out.

Maintenance or repair work that is outside the original guarantee coverage may be charged separately.

Where the guarantee terms require corrective action to maintain the protection system, failure to carry out the recommended corrective work may affect continued guarantee coverage for the affected area.

7. WHY ANNUAL INSPECTION IS REQUIRED

A vehicle continues to be exposed to external conditions after the treatment has been completed.

These may include:

  • road salt

  • water

  • moisture

  • mud

  • dirt

  • stone impact

  • road debris

  • temperature changes

  • mechanical work

  • lifting equipment

  • suspension repairs

  • exhaust repairs

  • accidents

  • bodywork

  • modifications

The protective system can therefore be damaged after the original treatment.

Annual inspection is intended to identify such damage and maintain the protection system over the long term.

The guarantee is therefore based on:

PROTECT → INSPECT → MAINTAIN → PROTECT AGAIN

8. CORROSION EXISTING BEFORE THE TREATMENT

The guarantee does not cover corrosion that existed before the treatment unless the affected area was specifically repaired and included within the scope of the qualifying treatment.

Where advanced corrosion, perforation or structural damage is identified before treatment, Bavarian Old School may recommend bodywork or metal repair before the protective system is applied.

Where such repairs are carried out, the repaired areas will be documented as part of the treatment records.

9. METAL REPAIR AND BODYWORK

Underbody protection is not a substitute for structural bodywork.

Where corrosion has caused:

  • perforation

  • weakened metal

  • structural damage

  • damaged mounting points

  • failed previous repairs

  • heavily corroded seams

the affected metal may require repair before protection can be applied.

Any bodywork, welding, fabrication or metal replacement is a separate service unless specifically included in the agreed treatment.

The guarantee applies to the corrosion-protection system and does not automatically constitute a ten-year guarantee against corrosion of every repaired or original metal component of the vehicle.

10. EXCLUSIONS

The guarantee does not cover damage or deterioration resulting from circumstances outside the protection system, including but not limited to:

  • road accidents

  • collision damage

  • stone impact

  • mechanical impact

  • off-road damage

  • contact with obstacles

  • damage caused by incorrect lifting of the vehicle

  • damage caused by workshop equipment

  • welding or cutting performed after the treatment

  • bodywork performed after the treatment

  • modifications to the vehicle

  • installation or removal of components

  • suspension repairs

  • exhaust repairs

  • brake repairs

  • electrical or mechanical work affecting protected areas

  • repairs performed by third parties

  • removal or alteration of the protective coating

  • deliberate damage

  • misuse or abnormal use of the vehicle

  • chemical contamination

  • leaks of aggressive substances

  • fire

  • flood

  • other external events outside the reasonable control of Bavarian Old School

Normal wear and tear or deterioration caused by external damage is not considered a failure of the original protection system.

11. WORK PERFORMED BY THIRD PARTIES

If another workshop, body shop, mechanic or other third party performs work that affects a protected area, the customer should inform Bavarian Old School.

Where subsequent work damages, removes, cuts through or otherwise affects the protective system, the affected area may require inspection and restoration.

The guarantee does not automatically cover damage caused by subsequent third-party work.

12. VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS

Any modification that affects the underbody, body structure, suspension, exhaust system, fuel system or other protected areas may affect guarantee coverage.

Examples include:

  • suspension modifications

  • lowering kits

  • off-road modifications

  • exhaust modifications

  • chassis modifications

  • welding

  • body modifications

  • additional brackets or mounts

  • aftermarket components requiring drilling, cutting or welding

The customer should inform Bavarian Old School of any such modification.

13. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

The vehicle owner is responsible for:

  1. presenting the vehicle for the required annual inspection;

  2. informing Bavarian Old School of accidents or damage affecting the underbody;

  3. informing Bavarian Old School of subsequent repairs or modifications affecting protected areas;

  4. avoiding unnecessary damage to the protective system;

  5. following reasonable maintenance recommendations provided by Bavarian Old School;

  6. keeping the Guarantee Certificate and treatment documentation.

14. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP

The guarantee is issued for the individual vehicle identified on the Guarantee Certificate.

If the vehicle is sold during the guarantee period, the new owner should contact Bavarian Old School and provide the existing Guarantee Certificate and vehicle identification details.

Any transfer of the guarantee is subject to the applicable guarantee terms and continued compliance with the annual inspection requirements.

15. HOW TO MAKE A GUARANTEE CLAIM

If you believe that the underbody protection system has failed or that a covered problem has developed, contact Bavarian Old School as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide:

  • vehicle registration or VIN

  • Guarantee Certificate

  • date of the last annual inspection

  • description of the problem

  • photographs where possible

The vehicle may need to be physically inspected before a guarantee claim can be accepted.

A guarantee claim must not be treated as accepted merely because a customer reports a corrosion or protection issue.

Bavarian Old School must first inspect the affected area and determine whether the issue falls within the scope of this guarantee.

16. CLAIM ASSESSMENT

Each guarantee claim is assessed individually.

We will determine:

  • whether the affected area was originally treated;

  • whether the annual inspection requirements were fulfilled;

  • whether the protection system was correctly maintained;

  • whether the damage resulted from the original treatment;

  • whether external damage or subsequent work contributed to the problem;

  • what corrective action is technically appropriate.

Where a claim is accepted, Bavarian Old School will determine the appropriate corrective measure.

17. CORRECTIVE WORK

Where a valid guarantee claim is accepted, Bavarian Old School will provide the appropriate corrective work in accordance with these guarantee terms.

The corrective work may involve local treatment rather than complete removal and reapplication of the entire underbody protection system.

The extent of corrective work will depend on the actual cause and location of the issue.

18. NO GUARANTEE OF A COMPLETELY RUST-FREE VEHICLE

The 10-Year Underbody Protection Guarantee does not mean that the vehicle is guaranteed to remain completely free of rust or corrosion for ten years.

A vehicle is continuously exposed to environmental and mechanical conditions.

The purpose of the guarantee is to provide protection for the qualifying underbody protection system, subject to the treatment scope, annual inspection requirement and these terms.

Professional corrosion protection significantly reduces exposure and risk, but no coating system can make a vehicle permanently immune to corrosion.

19. ANNUAL INSPECTION RECORD

Each annual inspection should be recorded by Bavarian Old School.

The record may include:

Inspection date:
Vehicle mileage:
Vehicle condition:
Areas inspected:
Protection condition:
Corrosion identified:
Repairs recommended:
Maintenance performed:

The inspection history forms part of the vehicle's protection documentation.

20. GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE

For each qualifying treatment, Bavarian Old School may issue an individual Guarantee Certificate containing the relevant vehicle and treatment information.

The certificate should identify, where applicable:

  • vehicle make and model

  • VIN

  • registration number

  • treatment date

  • guarantee start date

  • guarantee expiry date

  • treatment performed

  • covered areas

  • relevant products or systems used

  • annual inspection requirements

The Guarantee Certificate should be retained by the vehicle owner for the duration of the guarantee.

21. STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS

This commercial guarantee is provided in addition to the consumer's statutory rights under applicable Slovenian law.

Nothing in these guarantee terms is intended to exclude or restrict mandatory statutory consumer rights.

The consumer's statutory rights in relation to conformity of goods and other mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.

The guarantee is legally binding in accordance with its applicable written terms and the requirements of Slovenian consumer protection legislation.

22. LANGUAGE AND DOCUMENTATION

The public information about this guarantee may be presented in English for informational and international communication purposes.

For consumer transactions in Slovenia, the formal Guarantee Certificate and applicable guarantee documentation will be provided in Slovenian, in accordance with applicable Slovenian consumer-protection requirements.

The Slovenian version of the formal guarantee documentation shall be the applicable consumer document for transactions subject to Slovenian law.

23. CHANGES TO THE GUARANTEE TERMS

The guarantee terms applicable to a particular vehicle are those provided to the customer in connection with the qualifying treatment and stated in the relevant Guarantee Certificate and documentation.

Any amendment to the terms applicable to an existing guarantee will not reduce rights already granted under that guarantee.
